I can’t believe we are already at the steps of Q4. Look at the calendar below and schedule a two hour transition meeting with your team later this month. It is important to acknowledge and celebrate the “wins” from Q3 and get a list of what is most important in Q4 so the team can stay really focused.

STEP 1 – UPDATE Q3 GOALS and TASKS
Have everyone log-in and go to the Management tab and update their Q3 goals and Tasks. They should either be Moved to Q4, Completed, or Deleted.
Quick Note: The beauty of Lead With Purpose is that it allows you to be agile. While most Q3 goals and tasks will either be completed or moved forward to another quarter, it is perfectly fine to delete them if the team determines they are no longer applicable to what is most important going forward.
STEP 2 – CREATE NEW Q4 GOALS and TASKS
Create additional Q4 goals and tasks by clicking on the gears of Annual Goals and Quarterly Goals. Type in the name and select a date in Q4. We recommend setting the due date as 12/31/2015. Take a look at your 2015 Annual goals to see if these goals are on track.
We recommend a TOTAL of three to five quarterly goals per department. Once the Q4 goals are set, go to the One Page View and click on the Select Quarter to View and select 2015 Q4. You can print or email PDF copies to others on your team.
STEP 3 – COMPLETE Q3 to Q4 TEAM MEETING
Schedule a meeting that is no longer than two hours. While it is good to be logged in and project your plan on a screen, we recommend you bring printouts of your Q3 Plan along with copies of the Q3 Accomplishments (under More tab). Here is a recommended agenda:
- Story Telling – Share stories where employees are living your Brand Purpose, Blue Sky Vision, and Values. Have everyone come with three examples (15 min)
- SWOT Review – Review Your SWOT and make any adjustments (15 min)
- Goals Update – Give everyone 15 minutes to provide an update on how Q3 went, and what the goals are for Q4.
STEP 4 – AMPLIFY YOUR Q4 STORY
To tap into the full potential of all of your employees, you need to share your Q4 Plan with more than just a few people at the top. Whether you schedule a company meeting and explain it or post the plan around your company, do whatever is most effective to make sure everyone clearly understands their role in making Q4 a success.
This should be very easy and a lot of fun and most importantly, you and your team will be ready and focused on what matters most!
